Glacier Bay "Ready-to-Mount^tm"  Ice Box Hatch

The illustration below provides a detailed look at the recommended mounting method for all "Read-To-Mount"^tm Ice Box Hatch installations.  Note the following:

1.  The flange on the hatch frame frame is located on top of the insulation but underneath the plywood countertop support.  The small insulation value afforded by the plywood is sufficient to prevent any condensation from forming at the flange location due to heat conduction through the flange.  Covering the ^flange with only the countertop finish material (Corian, Formica, etc.) would make such condensation possible under extreme conditions.

2.  Use the countertop finish material to form a clean edge on the countertop supporting plywood .
