CONTROL "T" ASSEMBLY

The Control "T" Assembly is a required part of all multi-zone Glacier Bay systems. It is an assembly of solenoid valves which regulate the flow of liquid refrigerant to each "zone". This approach provides improved temperature control and better energy efficiency than competitor's non-zoned multi-plate systems in which the freezer compartment is always cooled whenever the refrigerator runs.

For example, a Glacier Bay system powering one refrigerator and one freezer would have a two-way Control "T" Assembly while a system powering one refrigerator, one freezer and single Arctic Airtm air conditioning blower would have a three-way Control "T" Assembly.  The number of "zones" permissable is virtually unlimited.

The circuitry within the system Control Box activates the individual valves of the Control "T" Assembly based on the signal received from the zone temperature controls according to the priority hierarchy which is built in. For safety, the control logic and solenoid valves themselves are always operated on direct current (DC) even on systems with AC compressor units.
