Operational Video

This page links to a streaming video showing the Glacier Bay ECS air conditioner in operation.  The video demonstrates the rapid cool-down of the Solectria "Force" (ie. electric converted Geo Metro) test car which had been permitted to heat-soak for several hours prior to the test.  A digital Fluke thermometer mounted on the dashboard with the probe recording the temperature of the air discharged from the vents.  The test begins with the fan-only (ie. circulation mode) at an interior cabin air temperature of 94.20°F.

Netscape 4.0 or Microsoft Explorer 4.0 is required to view this video (no plug-in needed).  The video will start automatically when 60% of the data has been downloaded (about 1 minute 15 seconds to begin at 28,800).  Use the controls at the bottom of the screen to replay, or stop the video.
