OSSA Powerlite® is Glacier Bay's energy management technology. OSSA Powerlite Enabled© devices incorporate special hardware and software features which work together to significantly enhance performance and energy efficiency.

OSSA Powerlite technology works through a process of continuous optimization. The intelligent software uses sensor-collected and historically-stored data to adjust "tuning points" in the OSSA Powerlite hardware thousands of times each second. The result is significant improvement in virtually every aspect of the power conversion, including:

The maximum benefit of OSSA Powerlite is realized when multiple devices are linked together via our OSSA-CAN© network. In these integrated systems, the data from individual devices is shared and transmitted throughout the network. This allows the OSSA Powerlite software to optimize the performance of each device relative to how it impacts the rest of the system. The resulting "choreography" of all network-connected devices results in greater efficiency than is possible when only individual components are considered.

For example, an OSSA Powerlite Enabled wind turbine and motor may each be 10% more efficient than a similar product without the technology. If the added benefit of OSSA-CAN were not considered, one would expect a net gain of a system incorporating these two devices to be 20% (10% + 10%). However, once the devices are networked together, the actual savings is likely to be more like 30% - the additional 10% savings coming from the ability of the individual devices to "choreograph" their own real-time optimization with that of other devices on the network.
